Water Quality Score (WQS): Each parameter is classified as Good, Moderate, or Poor against peer-reviewed thresholds. Scores of 100, 60, or 20 are assigned and multiplied by parameter weights, then summed to give a final score from 0–100.
Eutrophication Risk is assessed independently using rule-based logic on Phosphate, Dissolved Oxygen, and Nitrate — the three parameters most predictive of eutrophication events.
Classifications: 80–100 = Excellent · 60–80 = Good · 40–60 = Moderate · <40 = Poor
Thresholds sourced from Boyd (2019), Carlson TSI (1977), Elser et al. (2022), US EPA, WHO, and MSc experimental data. For educational and indicative use.
